Olive You

About Us

Olive You began in March 2024 as a simple act of solidarity that grew into a community-powered movement. What started with a few friends trying to support displaced Palestinians quickly became a network of people determined to show up with dignity, care and consistency. We chose a grassroots path because we believe the people closest to the struggle should be the ones shaping the response.

Our work is led by Palestinians in Cairo and Gaza who carry lived experience, cultural knowledge and deep understanding of what their communities need. Olive You creates the infrastructure for them to lead, whether through therapy, education, entrepreneurship or emergency support. We prioritise listening, collaboration and building spaces where people feel seen and valued.

In Egypt, our focus grew from urgent survival support to long term empowerment, leading to the opening of our community hub in Cairo. In Gaza, our efforts follow the guidance of our team on the ground who continue to serve their neighbours despite unimaginable loss.

At the heart of Olive You is the belief that solidarity is an action. When communities come together, healing becomes possible, opportunities open up and hope becomes something you can hold again. We are here to restore dignity, amplify talent and build a future rooted in community care.

Story behind our logo

Our logo was designed by the incredibly talented Amina Al Salmi (Franc) martyred 30.06.2025 in the Al Baqa Cafe massacre. We commissioned Franc to design our logo after we worked with her on mutual aid in Gaza. She understood exactly what we were looking for and encapsulated everything we hoped. Franc was more than an artist, she was everything that resistance means. May she rest in power.

Our Current Goals

We are focused on supplying clean drinking water and essential aid in South Gaza, including orphan support and winter relief for families living in tents. In Egypt, we support displaced Palestinians with urgent needs like shelter and medical care, while strengthening our community hub in Cairo with therapy, education and entrepreneurship programmes. Through our Business Kickstarter Programme, we help Palestinians build sustainable livelihoods, keeping everything we do rooted in Palestinian leadership and community care.

Empowering Independence

We assist individuals and families in finding employment or starting their own businesses, helping them achieve sustainable income and self-reliance.

Promoting Health and Wellness

We connect displaced Palestinians with communities where they can heal and find solace in nature, fostering mental and physical well-being. We organise events & community gatherings to bring people together. We are currently working on launching a community hub in Cairo.

Supporting Gaza

Through our team on the ground we have been supplying clean drinking water regularly, distributing food parcels, providing winter relief through tent covers and blankets, as well as supporting orphans monthly.
